No matter how old we are, I think we’re all momma’s girls (and boys) at heart. And when thousands of miles separate you, I’m really grateful for the technology that allows me to stay close to my own momma.
Between recovery and traveling to Portland yesterday (I know! I just had surgery last week!), it’s been pretty hectic for me. I thought about trying to write something connected to Deflategate, but a) it would have been a stretch, and b) I really don’t care about Tom Brady. After Kirk’s terrific post on thought leadership day before yesterday, you would have been sorely let down, since mine would have been neither wise nor wide!
So I decided to instead share some Mother’s Day gift ideas (ahem, it’s on Sunday), in case you’re still looking. Here are some thoughtful Mother’s Day gifts, courtesy CafePress. I love the hashtag too, because at the end of the day, the best give is one that shows you put some thought into it.
A couple more ideas, especially for those of you who are far from home (or really far from home, like me!):
- I love that I can send my mom (or other family/friends) flowers in India via Pickupflowers.com; I’ve used them for years and they’ve never disappointed (so far, at least, let’s hope I didn’t just jinx that streak). They deliver all over the world, and their prices are great, so check them out.
- If you’re not celebrating your mom in person, it’s tough to beat a phone call. I’ve started using Rebtel recently for VoIP-based phone calls, and it’s terrific! The quality is usually far better than Skype, and the prices can’t be beat. They also have really good customer service. If you check them out, tell ’em I sent you.
- There’s nothing like a card. I love Someecards‘ Mother’s Day selection. Especially this one: I know moms like mushy cards, but I think they’ll get a kick out of these too.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, celebrating with your moms, both real and acquired… and happy Mother’s Day to you if you’re lucky enough to be a mom!
And do tell: how do you plan to show Mom you care? Did you use one of the CafePress suggestions, or mine… or did you have something else in mind? I’d love to know!
